Here at Art Framing, we aim to make the process of selecting the best mouldings and mounting options for your treasured items a really enjoyable experience. We encourage you to let us know what sort of effect you want the finished product to have, and where you are thinking of displaying it so that we can advise you on the most suitable options. We want you to be delighted with the end product and will do all we can to achieve this aim.

Measuring up
When we come to framing your work we take great care to make sure that the finished dimensions of the frame match the specification that was agreed with the customer. However, if we believe at this stage that a change may be beneficial to the overall presentation we will contact you to give you our professional advice.
Glass
We offer a large range of glass ranging from standard float glass up to ultra-violet filtering and super clarity products. Please ask our advice on the best glazing for your item.

Mounting
If your artwork requires a mount or border we can offer a large variety of options to suit every taste and budget. Starting with a basic single mount you can go all the way up to multiple mounts, deep bevels, wash lines, mount slips or grooves in the mount. All our mount board is conservation quality or better and conforms to Fine Art Trade Guild standards. For your valuable items we can offer an even better level of protection with museum quality board. We ensure that there is nothing in contact with the work that will cause any harm to the item in the short or long term.

Cutting and joining the moulding
We offer around 700 different mouldings to suit all tastes and images. We only use good quality wood and aluminium mouldings - any flaws or defects in moulding will be rejected by us no matter how small as our aim is to produce the highest quality product. We carefully cut and join each frame by hand and take great care during this process.

Assembling the picture
This is probably the most rewarding but sometimes most time consuming part of the framing process from our point of view. We strive to make sure that the glass of the picture is spotless, there is no dust inside the picture and that the finishing on the back of the frame is as neat as the appearance on the front. It’s great to see the end result of careful selection and manipulation of materials - producing a beautifully framed item!

Quality Control
Even though we check the quality of finish and workmanship at every stage of the process, we still double check the picture for any problems before being packed away to await collection.
